From September 26 to 28, 2025, Kyutech proudly hosted the very first Japanese edition of JUNCTION X, the local spin-off of JUNCTION—one of Europe’s largest and most influential student-led hackathons, originally founded in Finland. Held at our Tobata Campus's cutting-edge innovation space, GYMLABO, the event brought together around 80 participants, including students, engineers, designers, and developers from countries such as Finland, Japan, Bangladesh, China, and India.
JUNCTION X is more than just a hackathon—it’s a global platform where emerging talents use programming and creativity to build new services, prototypes, and tech solutions in an intense, high-energy environment. Participants collaborate across disciplines to tackle real-world challenges under specific themes, turning bold ideas into working products in just 48 hours.
This landmark event was made possible through the MoU signed with Aalto Entrepreneurship Society (Aaltoes) and the JUNCTION LICENSE AGREEMENT signed with Junction Ltd. on June 30, 2025 (local time) in Espoo, Finland, enabling us to officially bring JUNCTION X to Japan.
With strong support from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU)—a key partner for the “Support Program for Creating Social Impact through University Internationalization” sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)
